Ute Mountaineer opened its doors in 1977. Since the beginning, they have put their customers and Aspen Valley community first as they provide them with the highest quality equipment to heighten their experience in the outdoors. Bob Wade, the founder of Ute Mountaineer, was a pioneer in establishing the over 60 km of free nordic trails that exist in the roaring fork valley today. Since 1984, the Ute Mountaineer has concurrently owned and operated the Aspen Cross Country Ski Center. This mission to connect with people and build community is the foundation of Ute Mountaineer, and what has sustained its growth since its small and humble beginnings. From technical to casual, and summer to winter, you can be sure the Ute Mountaineer will work with you to get you outfitted with the gear and service you need to enjoy the outdoors to the fullest.
